Prince Mayne (6pm-11pm)
Prince is now enjoying his third decade in Country Radio, he joined the Country Today format after seven years as Morning personality and OM of the KZ-Country Satellite Network based in Nebraska. Prior to that he handled Mornings and ProgrammedWCCQ Q-Country in the burbs of Chicago. As a San Francisco native Prince was also heard doing afternoons in Salinas/Monterey at KTOM and spent some time in the Big D working evenings at KDNT Denton/Dallas. During his radio career he hosted scores of country concerts and interviewed many country artists. His local band Southern Knights opened for many Country Artists around Chicagoland during the late 80s and early 90s solidifying his interaction and relatability with some of today's hottest country artists.
Suzy Mare, his early love and beloved Quarter Horse, was Prince's Sidekick in radio since 1987 when they met at a stable in the Chicago Suburbs (over a bag of carrots). She had appeared with Prince at Hotel Dances, Rodeos, Trail-rides, Parades, and Radio Station Events from Chicago to Broken Bow! After 2 decades of meet and greets with the listeners, at age 33, Suzy finally retired and left for heaven in January 2004, during that time, Prince also hitched up with Fancy, a cute blue roan appaloosa mare back in 1994 and has trained her to ride. Hmm, who's training who? In Memory of Suzy, Prince recently found a pretty young Chestnut Morgan, “Mariah”. After all, Fancy needs a stable mate! (They'll go anywhere for a carrot!). Prince again digs the Great Outdoors and spends most of his free time at his boarding stable playing with his horses or doing chores around the farm. He loves to BS and is an official member of Manure Movers of America! |
